Distance Methods

Haversine (Default)

  • Great circle distance assuming spherical Earth
  • Fast and accurate for most purposes
  • Error: ~0.5% max

Vincenty

  • More accurate, accounts for Earth's ellipsoid shape
  • Slightly slower
  • Error: ~0.5mm
